Carbon footprint and CSR approach

Supertripper calculates emissions for rail and air journeys by multiplying the distance travelled by an emission factor specific to the mode of transport and the travel class, in accordance with the ADEME methodology. For hotels, the calculation is based on the number of nights and the HCMI (Hotel Carbon Measurement Initiative) factors linked to the type of property and its location.

The French Environmental Code requires a Bilan Carbone® for companies with more than 500 employees in mainland France (250 in overseas territories), public bodies with more than 250 people, and local authorities with more than 50,000 inhabitants. For companies below these thresholds, the assessment remains voluntary but is a useful management tool for reducing transport-related costs.

Supertripper acts on three levers. Eco-responsible travel policies prioritise rail on routes where flying can be avoided. Integrated CO₂ reporting identifies the highest-emitting items by destination, department or employee. And the carbon neutrality contribution programme funds environmental projects in France through a percentage applied to periodic invoicing.

The company can join the programme at any time. A percentage is applied to the amount of each periodic invoice to fund environmental projects located in France. Each month, Supertripper issues a certificate attesting to the contribution, which can be used in the company’s CSR reports. The agency itself is also assessed by EcoVadis for its own responsible approach.
